Niger Delta Digital Summit 2025

The Niger Delta has long powered Nigeria’s economy yet lags substantially behind in human development. While oil wealth has flowed outward, communities in the region have often been left with poverty, pollution, and structural neglect. Generations of young people face limited access to quality education, healthcare, and jobs. The inequality is stark and deeply unjust.

This is the context in which the Niger Delta Digital Summit 2025 emerges, with a clear and urgent theme: Beyond Oil: Shaping a Digital Future for the Niger Delta. It is a call to action, one that recognises both the historical wounds of resource extraction and the immense potential of digital innovation to heal, transform, and empower.

As co-convenors, Sustainability Impact and Mathesis believe that the digital future must be deliberately inclusive, just, and sustainable. We are not simply advocating for more connectivity or faster broadband. We are advocating for digital inclusion, where access to technology becomes access to socioeconomic opportunities, and where innovation works for the many, not the few.

Together, we invite all participants to join us in creating a new digital identity for the Niger Delta, one that transcends the legacy of oil and champions a future defined by inclusion, creativity, and sustainable development.
